I'm sure this have been brought up several times ;)
I'm not australian, but have many australian friends that say that DT occurs right in the middle of their normal game time. While I understand that the current DT is pretty good considering the servers are in London and that no one else takes a serious hit, I still think it could be modified somewhat?
I would like to know what people would think of moving DT 2-3 hours earlier. This would mean a less intrusive DT for australians that work. For europeans it means that it's moved from mid day to morning (I see this as positive). For americans it would mean that it's moved from morning to night (shouldn't do much difference). Is there anyone else that would get it worse if it was moved?
2-3 hours earlier would also mean that it's still during normal work time in London, and that's the only thing I can see that CCP is interested of.

Originally by: LA RUCA 2-3 hours would ruin US Pacific/hawaii numpty so instead of making up a bull**** solution how about make a solution like DT for a few hours once a week. Everyone is happy then.
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there a lot less EVE players in Hawaii than in Australia? As people say, whichever time we take someone is affected, so why not take it some time where the absolute minimum are affected? Right now it's reasonably good, but it could be better. There is the possibility of rotating the time too, but I personally think that's too complicated.

If it annoys you so much don't read it :p
I just came with a suggestion that I feel minimize the impact on as many timezones as possible. I'm not saying we should move DT to perfectly fit australians, I'm saying we could move it just a little in a way that doesn't really affect anyone (positively or negatively) but australians (for whom it's mostly positive).
Can anyone who have posted in here say that moving DT 2-3 hours earlier would negatively affect their game time (well besides La Ruca that is)? Yes it's sad that this modification affects those in Hawaii, but it's really a very small place compared to australia.

Originally by: ColdChimera We have two members in our corp that have that (or similar) time zone; one in Japan and one in Australia. They have never complained, nor brought it up even. So, whats your problem? For one thing, changing the DT schedule would be very uneconomical for CCP; being that the servers are in EU time zone, they set the current DT for a specific reason, Im pretty sure they thought about everyone who might play around the world. They set it to what would be beneficial to there team. Theyre not gunna have people work ungodly hours just because a few Australians got their panties in a bunch.
I don't know why no one ever read the whole proposition but only the subject and then fantasizes together what the OP says.
I'm not saying we should grab the earth and spin it backwards or killing every european and eat their brainz. I'm merely suggesting moving DT 2-3 hours earlier. What is so terribly catastrophic with that idea? It's still during normal London work time. Almost no one except the australians will get affected.
Why can't anyone argue with or against the actual idea instead of assuming I want to move DT 12 hours???

Originally by: Nova Fox I bet you there are alot of people in hawaii that play eve, they're call US military we're big fans of boredom.
I understand.
But I assume (maybe incorrectly) that they (you) are bored at many different times? not just during evening time (which is where DT would be moved with the 2-3 hours shift)? So technically it wouldn't make any difference when DT occurs for you because you would be bored at that time anyway
